FAQ

Do learning disabled children have low IQs?

No more or less so than the general public. A learning disability is a defined as being a specific processing problem, separate from IQ. Most of our students have average to above average IQs. (But we’re not really that into measures like IQ, anyway.)

Can Odyssey students attend four year colleges?

Absolutely. Not only are we a fully accredited Middle and High school, but we offer SAT prep to eligible Juniors and Seniors, assistance with the college selection and application processes, and guidance on preparing for college with a learning disability. We also help prepare students for the college leap by supporting and accommodating their dual enrollment at ACC while still at Odyssey. This very popular option is highly recommended.

Do you offer occupational therapy (or other ancillary services)?

Our enrichment program offers language therapy and social skills training, and our highly qualified teachers blend copious amounts of hands-on learning into each lesson. We do not have a large team of para-professionals at Odyssey, but we have relationships with many of them and we strongly encourage parents to discuss these options with us.
